Derby County Football Club (también conocido como The Rams) fue fundado en 1884 como una sección del Derbyshire County Cricket Club. Su primer nombre fue Derbyshire County FC.
En 1972 el equipo gana su primera Liga. La temporada 2007/2008 jugará en la Premier League.
