Charlie Watts

Imagen:Charlie Watts Hannover 19-07-2006.jpg Charles Robert Watts (Wembley, Inglaterra, 2 de junio de 1941), mejor conocido como Charlie Watts es un músico y baterista famoso por ser integrante de los The Rolling Stones grupo al que se unió en 1962 y con el cual, a 45 años de su llegada, sigue tocando, grabando y haciendo giras.

Watts es un típico baterista de jazz y confeso admirador de Charlie Parker. Su juventud fue muy tranquila a comparación de sus compañeros de banda. Aunque no estuvo totalmente limpio ya que en 1985 fue detenido por posesión de heroína.

Charile estudió en Tyler´s Croft secundary Moderm School y Harrow School of Arts. Se casó con Shirley Ann Shepherd y tiene una hija llamada Seraphina.

En el año 2004 se le detectó cáncer de garganta. Su tratamiento se basó en 6 semanas de quimioterapia hasta que volvió para grabar el disco A Bigger Bang de los Rolling Stones lanzado en 2005.

Ese mismo año, casi pierde la vida de nuevo, esta vez por un accidente automovilístico en Francia.
